The Sun: Tottenham s home song may be subject to compensation from the creator, who is also an Arsenal fan

"The Sun" reports that Tottenham are facing royalties for playing Barry Manilow's songs before home games.
The Premier League club often plays the singer's "Can 't Smile Without You" before games. Now one of the hit song's three creators, a fan of Tottenham's north London rivals Arsenal, has threatened legal action and accused Spurs of refusing to pay.
The song has become a favorite among Tottenham fans, and fans of the home team sing it in unison before games at the billion-pound Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. When games were held behind closed doors during the epidemic, Tottenham even covered the empty seats with banners emblazoned with the words "Can't Smile Without You".
Jeff Morrow, who co-wrote the song in 1975, accused Tottenham of the club's ridiculous behavior after his request for payment was rejected.
He told The Sun: "I had hoped that Tottenham would sit down and meet with me to discuss it, but they have never been interested. When we wrote the song, we never thought it would become a football anthem, it is a love song."
"What's really frustrating is that Tottenham don't admit that they are using our song."
Other clubs pay royalties for songs that fans sing in unison, including Liverpool for "You'll Never Walk Alone." But The Sun understands Spurs argue his claim has no legal basis under licensing rules.
"The Sun" contacted Tottenham about this matter, but the club did not comment.
