PricewaterhouseCoopers set up an artificial intelligence center with a local investment of more than 5 million yuan in three years

To this end, the Economic Development Bureau is committed to attracting industry-leading companies and setting up a local center of excellence for artificial intelligence (Centre of Excellence), and PwC's artificial intelligence center is one of them.
PwC Singapore officially launched the above-mentioned artificial intelligence center on Wednesday (May 21). In fact, the center was established in January 2025, growing from the original "three-person walk" to the current 15-person team. PwC has been looking forward to 12 to 15 months, further expanding the center to a 20-person scale.
Li Jiaming pointed out that the government invested 1 billion yuan to launch the National AI Strategy (NAIS), aiming to build an artificial intelligence ecosystem that integrates innovation, infrastructure, talent and government converge. In addition, the authorities focus on three aspects, including the application of artificial intelligence, talent development, and artificial intelligence governance by industry leaders.
In his speech at the launch ceremony, Director of the Economic Development Bureau, Li Jiaming welcomed the opening of the AI center in Singapore: "This center will support the needs of enterprises and accelerate the process of artificial intelligence application in various industries. Professional service agencies like PwC are important partners in Singapore. We look forward to more similar measures to consolidate our country's position as an innovation and talent hub in the field of artificial intelligence."
The center has so far expanded related solutions for the financial services, government and public sectors, transportation and logistics industries. Since then, the Centre plans to continue to work with higher education institutions such as the National University of Singapore to provide students with professional learning and internship opportunities to help them master practical engineering skills in artificial intelligence.
PwC Singapore Chairman and Director Lin Fuchun said: "We will use artificial intelligence to develop solutions provided to our customers, and also support nearly 4,000 employees in the organization to achieve the transformation and application of artificial intelligence technology. Our strong infrastructure, stable economy and pro-business policies to support large-scale innovation and technological development have made Singapore the best choice for PwC to develop artificial intelligence."
This AI center will promote the development of responsible, trusted, cutting-edge and scalable AI solutions to serve leading companies and innovators in Singapore and even the regional markets. PwC has connected developers and engineers from all over the world in its business network in more than 40 regions. The center will also continue to expand the coverage of the organization's artificial intelligence business.
PwC Singapore promises to invest more than US$4 million (about S$5.2 million) in three years, thereby establishing standards for introducing artificial intelligence technology, developing and expanding local artificial intelligence technology, and establishing strategic alliances to enter the market.
This project is supported by the Singapore Economic Development Authority. The center will also invest in an AI factory to promote the effective development and expansion of influential artificial intelligence solutions.
