According to The Athletic, Leipzig has interest in Liverpool midfielder Elliott.

Leipzig has contacted Liverpool about signing Elliott. Although it has not yet entered the deeper stage, the two sides are still in exchange.

Leipzig is one of several clubs that intend to introduce Elliott. Liverpool estimates the midfielder at more than £40 million and requires a buyback clause, which costs more than £50 million if the buyback right is not included.

Leipzig believes the 22-year-old can be a direct replacement for Simmons, who may leave the team before the end of the summer window.
