Cats are like children who can’t speak. When they are sick or uncomfortable, although they can’t speak, they will turn on a red light through emotional reactions and actions in life. If the cat is listless, has poor appetite, howling for no reason in the middle of the night, paces back and forth, and over licking hair, cat slaves should pay more attention!

Listening and poor appetite

Cats, like humans, will lose their energy once they get sick. When observing the cat's daily condition, you can pay attention to both mental state and appetite. When a cat feels depressed, listless, lazy and slow, unable to get interested in toys he originally liked, and at the same time, he also has poor appetite and lacks interest in the food he likes, it may be a warning of physical discomfort or illness.

Howling in the middle of the night and unable to sleep well

Cats are over 6 years old and begin to enter the "middle-aged and elderly" born to cats. At this time, the owner should pay more attention to whether the cats have some behaviors in their daily lives are different from before. For example, howling in the middle of the night, unable to sleep, pace back and forth, peeing randomly, etc., it may be because of the discomfort caused by joint pain and physical aging when you are old, which causes these abnormal behaviors in the cat. Once the cat has abnormal behaviors that are different from the past and repeatedly, it is recommended to see a doctor first to check whether it is caused by aging or disease.

Cats have upside down sleeping habits, pace back and forth, and howl aimlessly, which may be related to the "older cognitive impairment" of elderly cats. This condition is similar to the fact that humans will suffer from Alzheimer's disease in elderly people, and cats will also experience loss of direction, improper excretion behavior, sudden and continuous screaming, etc. In older cats (usually over 11 years old) about 28% of them experience abnormal symptoms caused by "alescent disease", and then with each year of age, the chance of dating increases by 4%. In the face of pet aging, the owner needs to pay more care and companionship, minimize changes in the environment and decorations, and accompany older cats through their old age.

Some cats will have "excessive licking of hair", licking some areas to bareness, and even causing dermatitis. This may be due to excessive scratching caused by itching of skin diseases, hair loss caused by mold invasion, or anxiety caused cats to constantly lick and pluck their hair on their bodies, which has become a "compulsive" behavior.

Cats are Buddhist animals! Cats are born with more privacy and hiding space, and do not like to interact with people too actively and frequently. Therefore, some owners like to hold the cat to see it, rub it, or force the cat to dig it out of the sleeping nest to play. These excessive "caring" behaviors may make the cat feel stressed invisibly. It is recommended that the owner just keep interacting with the cat naturally.

If a cat urinates and defecates randomly, it may be caused by diseases, cat litter discomfort, excessive stress, etc. The owner should first find out what the cause is. It is recommended to start with the cleanliness of the cat's litter box, observe whether the cat has a source of stress, and observe the overall health. If the owner cannot find the reason, it is recommended that the veterinarian perform a blood draw or an ultrasonic examination.

If it is a disease problem that causes cats to urinate and drown, it may be caused by lower urinary tract, kidney-related diseases (such as stones), etc., which will cause cats to feel uncomfortable during excretion and change their excretion location. If behavioral problems lead to urination and drowning, it is recommended to find out the reasons for the cat's "dissatisfaction", such as whether the cat's litter box is not enough, the cat's litter box is not clean enough, it is not suitable for many cat environments, and it feels stressed by the people or environment around you.
