Cats are naturally afraid of water. Some cats will be very resistant to water if they don’t touch water until they become adults. Some cats will also become very resistant to water when they have unhappy experiences during the bathing process. Since cats' ancestors mainly live in desert areas and rarely come into contact with water, cats' hair will be very difficult to dry after being exposed to water, so if you want to train cats to not be afraid of water, you need to get used to it from a young age.

To train cats not to be afraid of water, the most direct way is to let cats get in contact with water from a young age. At the beginning, you can try to use a small basin to fill some water for the cat to play. In order to better attract and tease cats, you can also put some small fish in the pot, be careful not to enlarge the fish, just small fish that can swim flexibly to attract the cat's attention.

At the beginning, don't try to throw the cat directly into the water, as this may make the cat more nervous and afraid of the water. You can give the cat enough time to play with water by itself and discover the fun of water. In addition, when a cat is young, it should be trained to get used to taking a bath so that the cat can have more contact with the water. When a pet cat is really used to water and likes water, it will not be afraid of water.
